The Graveyard is an multi-purpose area. At The Graveyard players can reclaim lost items, enter a fearsome dungeon in pursuit of loot, or during The Apocalypse face a serious hoard of powerful foes.
Headstones around the graveyard mark the deaths of fallen players. Headstones include the name of the player, and the date of their death. The player on the headstone can always open their own grave. However as one man's trash may be another's treasure, graves are only protected from "grave robbing" for roughly three days (graves are protected based on the date of death absent any time of day information). Once the three day grace period is up, the grave can be looted by any player who happens to stumble across it.
While during the day, the surface of The Graveyard is quite peaceful, during the night, The Graveyard becomes much more hostile. Players that walk near graves during the night will find that they "disturb the residents" resulting in the spawning of Grave Zombies.
These Grave Zombies will spawn increasing quickly -- with varied equipment -- at nearby graves the longer the player chooses to stay near the graves. Fighting Grave Zombies can be a viable way to make some money -- especially for newer players -- as they drop a number of valuable items fairly frequently. That said, it's important to note that it can also be a dangerous way to make money as it's easy to get overwhelmed if you do not pay attention.
To successfully complete The Graveyard Temple there are a few required items:
Additionally it's highly advisable to bring a Gem of Life so that items don't have to be recovered upon death.
The staircase is a spiral staircase which descends down into the depths of the Grave Yard. The stairs are unstable and will fall out if stepped on. Soon after entering the staircase, and for the remainder of the temple, if the player did not bring a Gem of Darkness they will find they have extremely low visibility. Additionally, to add to the challenge players will have to fend off an infestation of Cave Spiders while descending the staircase.
This rather large hallway is filled with numerous pressure plates. When stepped on, these pressure plates will spew harmful splash potions upon anything nearby. These pressure plates can be disabled by discovering the correct combination for the levers on the right immediately before entering the pressure plate hall way. If the correct combination is found, everyone inside of the Grave Yard will receive the message "You hear a clicking sound." This indicates that it is safe to walk through the hallway.
In this hallway, torches will flash between soul fire and normal torches, while zombies spawn at the end of the hallway. To make it through the hallway, players must fight their way past the zombies, and into the next room. The catch is that during the soul fire torch phase, all damage dealt by the player will be reflected back at the player -- making these zombies particularly dangerous, especially against well armed players weapons which may become their greatest downfall. To make it past, the player must time their attacks, and make the occasional strategic retreat.
This long, winding, and creeper infested maze spells certain death for a great many players whom lose their way inside of it's many hallways. When the end of the maze is finally reached, there's a wall of cracked stone brick that must be broken through with a pickaxe to open the passage to the next room. The room in which this week wall is contained in can be recognized by the fact that it's the only the part of the entire maze which is lit.
In this room, the player will have to parkour over a floor filled with pressure plates. The blocks on which must be jumped from, and to -- much like the earlier staircase -- fall out. Upon falling, the only way out is to run back up the stairs at the begging of the room and try again.
Additionally, for added challenge and to keep things from becoming too stale, every hour on the hour the parkour blocks are randomized. As a result of this randomization, it's important to not be doing the parkour on the hour, as one may find the block they were leaping for to have disappeared.
This room features two chest on either side of the room. These chest are filled with a variety of valuable items, and are reset after every looting. The room also features its own Sacrificial Pit which can be used to repair Unleashed and Fear weaponry for a reduced cost, fully repair master weaponry, and to redeem Phantom Gold and Phantom Diamonds with increased value.
As an added challenge, once the player enters the rewards room Guardian Zombies will begin to spawn. Guardian Zombies have increased drop rates of everything that Grave Zombies have in their drop table, as well as their own special drops, and they can be extremely rewarding to fight. The catch, however, is that the Guardian Zombies are equipped with functional Ancient Armor, in addition to their ability to clone potion effects from any player that attacks them. Guardian Zombies will also spawn at increasing quantities with increasing strength the longer the player stays in the rewards room.
To leave the rewards room players can either teleport out or go through the portal opposite the room's entrance. The portal places the player at a random headstone in The Graveyard.
